Administrative + Marketing Assistant

Location: Friday Harbor, Washington
Employment Type: Part-Time

Tenth House is looking for a reliable and detail oriented assistant to help manage a variety of behind the scenes tasks that keep the restaurant running smoothly. This role supports administrative tasks, online updates, and light marketing. It is a great fit for someone organized, tech comfortable, and able to manage small projects independently.

Some work can be completed remotely, though occasional in person coordination may be helpful.

Key Responsibilities:

Administrative + Operations

  • Create and invoice gift cards

  • Assist with billing and invoicing

  • General light office and administrative tasks

Menus + Website

  • Update menus and pricing on the website

  • Update menu items and pricing in Toast

  • Maintain accuracy across digital menus and ordering platforms

Online Listings + Platforms

  • Update restaurant hours and blackout dates in Toast

  • Maintain business listings on Google, Yelp, and Apple Maps

  • Update and maintain the events calendar

Marketing + Design

  • Manage and post to Facebook and Instagram

  • Assist with simple graphic design for menus, announcements, or events

Qualifications:

  • Highly organized and detail oriented

  • Comfortable working with websites, POS systems, and social platforms

  • Familiar with basic digital editing or design tools

  • Able to work independently and communicate clearly

  • Local to San Juan Island preferred

Compensation:

  • $25 per hour depending on experience

Pasta Production Cook / Pantry Lead

Location: Friday Harbor, Washington
Employment Type: Full-Time

Tenth House, a boutique restaurant in the heart of Friday Harbor, WA, is seeking a skilled and highly organized cook to lead our pasta and pantry production program.

This role is responsible for the systems behind our handmade pasta, dough fermentation, and pantry production. The Pasta Production Cook plays an essential role in ensuring the kitchen is consistently prepared for service by maintaining weekly pasta pars, dough production, and pantry components.

You will work closely with the Chef/Owner and kitchen team in a focused, ingredient-driven kitchen that draws inspiration from Italian technique and the seasonal bounty of the Pacific Northwest.

This position is best suited for a cook with strong kitchen fundamentals and a deep appreciation for craft, organization, and consistency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce laminated and extruded pasta using sheeter and extruder.

  • Maintain weekly pasta pars to support service.

  • Prepare doughs for pizza and focaccia, including feeding starter and building levain.

  • Monitor fermentation, hydration, and dough development.

  • Prepare pantry components including lasagna, arancini, sauces, and other mise en place.

  • Produce desserts such as tiramisu and budino while maintaining proper pars.

  • Label, store, and organize all products according to kitchen standards.

  • Maintain and clean pasta equipment including extruder components.

  • Keep pantry station clean, organized, and prepared for service.

  • Assist with kitchen cleaning and end-of-day organization.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years experience in a professional kitchen.

  • Experience with pasta production, baking, or fermentation preferred.

  • Strong organization and time management skills.

  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of a station.

  • A clean and disciplined approach to prep work.

  • Passion for ingredient-driven cooking and traditional techniques.

  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
